Remember it is the Christmas ART gallery Tuesday 16th at 2:45pm.

This is where you can come and view our Christmas Card designs and to put in your order!

Things you need to know.

We have hall time and PE Monday afternoon (Squirrels) and Friday afternoon (Foxes).

Please help your child to practice changing into and out of their clothes. Some clothing can be tricky and things like socks and tights can be difficult when you are four or five.

Home Learning

In Foundation Stage we ask that you share a book with your child three times each week. If you read anything (not just the book chosen at school) please  write it into the reading log and we can see what you enjoy reading outside of school as well.

Please ensure your child's book bag with Reading Log come into school everyday as they are often needed here as well as at home.

We will check Home Learning books every Thursday.

If you have read three times that week or more you will get a green stamp.

If you have read less than three times that week you will get a red stamp.

Have you checked out the Kid's Zone yet? There are lots of fun games to play and opportunities to keep on learning when you are at home!

Learning Journals

Your child will have an online Learning Journal through the Tapestry website and this is where we store all the observations that we make about what your child is learning. You will also have access and will be able to add in your own observations about your child's learning at home. The more you tell us about what your child enjoys and what they have been doing the better we can tailor the learning to suit them.

What are we learning?

As you know young children learn best through play and below is a link to some games that will support what they learn in school while they are at home with you. If a child attends school everyday day that they can then they are here for about 1,000 hours every year, but that also means that they are at home for about 7,500!

If you help your child with their flashcards and play these games with them then you are reinforcing what your child is taught in school and that will mean learning happens faster and becomes more embedded.

Apart from the maths and phonics that your children will be learning they will also be using the technology of computers, laptops, tablets etc., and as we assess this at the end of the year as well so you really are helping them with all of their learning.

Happy playing!

This week in Reception 8/10/18

Once again we have had a fantastic week in EYFS.

This week our focus was on the senses. We had lots of activities that meant we could explore what we can see, touch, hear, smell and taste.

We had a sensory walk where we were able to take off our shoes and socks and put our feet into lots of different textures, we had gloop and spaghetti to feel, mystery scents to smell, different fruits to taste, music to hear and lots of exciting things to see.

Check out our pictures below to see our learning this week.

This week in Reception 1/10/18

We have been very busy this week in EYFS.

We have been exploring the big blue diggers, focusing on our number and counting knowledge, writing our names, experimenting with water and have had our 2nd PE lessons.

We have been lucky with the weather as it has been sunny.

Check out our photos below to see our learning this week.
